Every ten years, a group of Canadian men tour Scotland, playing against various RCCC areas and provinces at a number of curling rinks. The shot scores from all the matches are aggregated to decide who wins the Strathcona Cup.
The 2018 Canadians quickly opened up a significant lead and they continued to extend it through the tour. Different final results have been reported, here's one of them:
North tour South tour Total
Scotland 650 642 1,292
Canada 791 823 1,614
Margin 141 181 322
Midlothian Province's 10 teams recorded 5 wins & 5 losses and scored 63 shots to 54. Victory!

Details for Midlothian Province
The Edinburgh Area of RCCC (comprising Midlothian, East Lothian and Peeblesshire Provinces) will host the tourists at Murrayfield at the following times:
There will be an Edinburgh Area tour dinner at Myreside on Wednesday 31st January. The 40 Midlothian Province players are encouraged to attend and have a ticket included in their entry fee. Partners and friends may pre-book extra tickets at a charge of £35.
The overall costs to Edinburgh Area have been calculated at £100 per home player. Midlothian Province is subsidising this by £25 (from the annual male member levy of £0.50, which has built up over the years), thereby reducing the amount each player has to pay to £75 as his entry fee. The fee includes ice charges, coffee, lunch or high tea (depending on time of play), one ticket for the Edinburgh Area tour dinner, tour pin and booklet, as well as a contribution to the gift, organised by the RCCC, which is given to each tourist.
If you have any questions, please contact David Cunningham, Midlothian Province Secretary, at [email protected] or 07849 023026.
